Test programs
Veryst has extensive experience developing and executing test plans for adhesives and bonded interfaces of all types, including structural adhesives, soft adhesives, pressure-sensitive adhesives, and coatings. Some of our most recommended test procedures are listed below. Veryst often uses multiple test types to characterize fully the mechanical response of an adhesive or interface.
Note that all the tests below can be performed at reduced or elevated temperatures and at strain rates ranging from creep to impact.
program Id | description | suitable for characterizing and modeling |
---|---|---|
AD001 | Thin lap shear test | Measuring shear strength of adhesive joints; validating cohesive zone models |
AD002 |
Thick lap shear test | Measuring shear strength of adhesive materials; validating cohesive zone models |
AD003 | Butt joint test | Measuring the tensile strength of adhesives; validating cohesive zone models |
AD004 | Double cantilever beam | Measuring Mode I fracture toughness; calibrating cohesive zone models |
AD005 | End notch flexure | Measuring Mode II fracture toughness; calibrating cohesive zone models |
AD006 | Single leg bending | Measuring Mixed Mode fracture toughness; calibrating cohesive zone models |
AD007 | Dynamic mechanical analysis | Viscoelastic response over a wide range frequencies or temperatures; tension, shear, compression, and bending modes available |
