Allyson Hartzell was invited to be a judge at the iMatSci Innovation Showcase, part of the 2019 MRS Fall Meeting and Exhibit. MRS describes the event as “a platform for technology leaders at universities, research laboratories and startup companies to demonstrate the practical applications of innovative, materials-based technologies.”

Dr. Matthew Hancock offered a webinar addressing modeling and design processes for lab-on-a-chip and organ-on-a-chip devices and other microfluidic systems. He discussed simulation methods and related tools and demonstrated how to set up an example model of a micropump with fully (two-way) coupled fluid-structure interaction.

Dr. Mark Oliver spoke about “Rate-Dependent Failure of Additively Manufactured Polymers,” discussing the importance of characterizing the mechanical behavior of additively manufactured polymers at impact strain rates, and presenting methods for getting high-quality data and share results.

Dr. Matthew Hancock spoke at two conferences in San Diego, California, about “Modeling and Simulation of Microfluidic Devices" and "Modeling and Simulation of Microfluidic Organ-on-a-Chip Devices."

Veryst was active at this event! Dr. Jorgen Bergstrom and Dr. Nagi Elabbasi presented a workshop on “Solving Challenging Multiphysics Problems.” Dr. Elabbasi moderated a panel discussion and Veryst engineers also spoke on a diverse range of topics.

Allyson Hartzell co-chaired a Bioelectronics session and gave a talk on "The Importance of MEMS Cavity Gas Composition" at the 31st Annual Electronics Packaging Symposium – Small Systems Integration.
