Veryst Presenting and Exhibiting at the 2025 NAFEMS World Congress

April 8, 2025
NAFEMS World Congress 25 Small

Dr. Mark Oliver and Dr. Sean Teller will be presenting and exhibiting at the NAFEMS World Congress, taking place May 19-22 in Salzburg, Austria.

Dr. Oliver will be presenting on “Techniques for Inverse Calibration of Cohesive Zone Models”.  He will discuss how to approach cohesive zone model (CZM) calibration when the adhesive or interface of interest isn’t conducive to the use of standard test specimens.  He will share examples of inverse calibration experiments and discuss how inverse calibration can be successfully used to determine CZM parameters that are accurate enough to inform simulation-based engineering design.

Dr. Teller will be presenting on “Rate and Pressure-Dependent Failure Modeling of Thermoplastics“.  He will share experimental data for HDPE measured over seven decades of strain rate and under different stress states.  He will then share how this data was used to calibrate a rate-dependent material model for use in explicit finite element simulations of material failure.

If you are attending the Congress, come see us at booth E2!
