Veryst’s simulation expertise was highlighted in a COMSOL blog titled “Using Simulation Software in the Courtroom.” The blog cites Veryst’s work analyzing the failure of a disk brake as an example of how simulation can be used in legal cases. Testing revealed information about part performance, and simulation showed if the resulting performance could lead to rapid brake wear and failure. In legal cases, such results can be used to support theories about what happened and why—or to disprove them. The blog also describes the rules judges use to determine when the use of simulation software is permissible in a trial. Read the COMSOL blog here.
