"Stress-free Simulation: The Art of Accurate Polymer Modelling" is the title of an article by Veryst's Eric Schmitt and Jorgen Bergstrom. In the article, the authors illustrate how to perform accurate simulations of polymers, even those undergoing large deformations. They also explore the steps required to get an accurate model of an example polymer, polyether ether ketone (PEEK), and show the consequences of oversimplification with a tube joining case study. The article appears in the October 2016 issue of Benchmark magazine, published by NAFEMS (the International Association for the Engineering Modelling, Analysis and Simulation Community).
