Nagi Elabbasi, Ph.D. Contact: nelabbasi@veryst.com Dr. Nagi Elabbasi is a Senior Engineer at Veryst Engineering LLC, an engineering consulting firm located in the Boston area. Veryst provides services in product design, manufacturing processes, and failure analysis. Dr. Elabbasi’s primarily area of expertise is simulation of nonlinear systems, and in particular the modeling and simulation of contact/impact problems. He has extensive experience in finite element modeling of mechanical, structural, and multiphysics systems, including dynamic analysis, nonlinear analysis, material modeling, code development, thermo-mechanical coupling and strongly coupled fluid-structure interaction problems. He works with customers in the biomedical, nuclear, turbomachinery, construction, automotive, and consumer products industries to resolve product design and performance issues. Specific products he has worked on include dental drills, automotive shock absorbers and crash boxes, pressure vessel supports, cylinder head gaskets, and safety helmets. Prior to joining Veryst Engineering, Dr. Elabbasi was a Research and Development Engineer at ADINA, a finite element software development firm. His work spanned research, development, customer support, and training, with direct contribution to contact/impact, material modeling, element design, explicit analysis, verification and validation, and distributed memory processing.
